Heavy Melting Scrap also commonly called HMS, is of two types, HMS 1 and HMS 2. Both Heavy Melting Scrap type 1 and 2 are iron and steel scrap which are generally heavy and are parts of dismantled or demolished structures or objects. HMS may include cut pipes, poles, ship plates, etc. The difference between HMS 1 and HMS 2 is that HMS 1 unlike HMS 2 does not contain blackened or galvanised steel.

They are usually exported in Containers of 20 Ft. or 40 Ft.
